Why Facebook and I Are Getting Back Together (Well, More Like Friends with Benefits)

I can admit when I’m wrong.

This isn’t one of those times.

It’s been almost a year since Facebook and I broke up, and there is not a single part of me that has an ounce of regret.

Our time apart has allowed me to read more, write more, connect with more people in a real life setting, and focus on my health.

So, why are we getting back together?

Business.

I like to think of it as a Julia Roberts Pretty Woman type of scenario.  Where Facebook is a hooker with a heart of gold that just wants to find true love and make it in the world, and I’m a rich and powerful Richard Gere in need of her “services”.

But instead of falling in love with an “I’ll do anything but kiss on the mouth” woman, I’m strictly using Facebook for her ability to connect me with the world (and help with that whole rich and powerful thing).

There are millions of stories out there that need to be told, millions of lessons to be learned, and millions of laughs to be heard.

But I can’t find them or share them with people I’m not connected to.  There are times we just need to bite the bullet and do things we don’t want to, but know we need to.

This is one of those times.

While I won’t be throwing out as many “pokes” or “likes” or playing “tag” with people’s photos, I’d still like to share as many fun stories and connect with as many people as possible.  So don’t be shy stranger, and feel free to look me up if you want to share in an awesome adventure!

P.S.  Just because FB and I are kind of getting back together doesn’t mean I love you any less…

It's OK to share, I promise...
